Sketch 029: The Eye!
From Wikipedia:
"The strange being known as The Eye appeared as a speaking, flaming eyeball in the sky. It had the power to generate deadly rays of heat, expand and shrink, fly and hover, project a searchlight beam, and appear just about anywhere. It often teamed up with Jack Barrister to fight crime. Space and time meant nothing to the Eye, and could use this fact to help bring justice to the entire world."

Sketch 019: Airman!
While I hate, hate HATE his name, I love the design of Airman's headdress. He made a brief return in comics history in the early nineties when Malibu Comics published "The Protectors," a comic about a team of Golden Age characters reimagined.

Sketch 018: The American Crusader
Tonight I thought I'd draw one of my favorite public domain superheroes, the American Crusader! I actually based Sovereign's costume on this one. It's even more obvious with the triangular cut of the bottom of this bust sketch.
